Emmy and Allison had a piece commissioned for their duo in 2021, by Green Bay (WI) composer Michelle McQuade Dewhirst. Below is a recording of this eastern European-inspired work, which they premiered for the public in May, 2022.
"I had the occasion to hear Allison and Emmy, the Firefly Brass Duo in May at the Wauwatosa Historical Society. It was a beautiful afternoon concert in the garden. They played some music that they wrote themselves and some others had written. They are both excellent musicians, the flow and rhythm as they played together was very synchronous. The French horn and trombone were so complimentary. I’m not a musician but I love many types of music. Their performance was a real joy to listen to."
